It's a movie with aliens but not an alien movie. When I say an alien movie, I mean something based in the universe from the original Alien (which you really should see). Xenomorphs and all that jazz.

I liked Independence Day, cheesy as all hell but what more could you want?

I might have missed it but what did you end up going for?

    Good luck anyways.

Shows how much I know about alien movies. :pac: Still hated it, though. :pac:

I'm doing two courses, one in Child Care and one in Criminal Psychology. :) Starting Child Care tonight, Criminal psych in a week. It's been 7 years since I was last in education, I'm scared!

Yeh its ok I kinda enjoy it , it has its good moments, but this has to be one the most cheesy and cringeworthy moments I have ever seen in a film America fcuk yeh wooooo :pac:

God yeah. I believe when that "speech" was played, there were standing ovations in cinemas right across the States. Sad, sad people!! Some of it was funny enough though. I loved Brent Spiner's character. He was so.....Data!!! :pac:

Not much of a difference between the two I'd say! :P :pac: Having both of them would just make you a shit-hot child minder! LOL

:pac: Lol! Well the child care is just because I want to specialise eventually in working with child victims of abuse, so it'll help me cope with kids (I hate the fcukers!).

Yay, my new avatar is cute. :D

It's a forum for subscribers which is pretty much just people requesting name changes.
My favourite alien film is... Howard the Duck.
Independence Day is an amazingly brilliant film.

    Not sure if sarcasm

How do you feel about The Room?

    Just because it's a cult classic doesn't mean it's good :P

It was the amazingly brilliant that threw me off.I like the film and it gets me right in my non-existent American patriot bone but brilliant it is not. Unlike The Room.

There wasn't a single thing missing from Independence Day! It was a perfect film!

Just sort of pukey. Hopefully it's just a bit of a bug or something and I'll be grand tomorrow.

I would say Independence Day is a brilliant movie, it's sheer popcorn entertainment, and as such, it is brilliant.

The Room is just an awful, awful movie. It's not even one of those "so bad that it's great" movies (like Howard The Duck is), it's just painfully bad. And it's obvious that the guy financed it himself, starred in it himself, directed it himself, to make his own terrible movie/porno.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,971 ✭✭✭Orim

Idependance Day lacked puns and one liners. "Welcome to Earth" just didn't cut the mustard. It tried put too much work into the characters and while I applaud the effort, it's didn't quite make it.

The Room is the epitome of "so bad, it's good". It's like if David Brent tried to make a film. Cringey, yes, but you can't help but watch.

On the other side, has anyone seen The Wave? Interesting film about a teacher that's doing autocracy in a class and turns the class into a mini Third Reich. It's a little heavy-handed but good nonetheless.

I think I've got the 'geek' look down for starting college tonight. Scared expression on my face, glasses, and although you can't see it in the pic, I have a Batman t-shirt on.

    :D

I managed to make it through about ten minutes and had to turn it off.
