Heck I'll be the first to admit the place I go most often is terrible, and I only go there cause drinks are cheap :pac: Even then, if my friends didn't go there too, I'd probably never bother going out.

People who seem to go out of their way to avoid a type of people irritates me. I don't like to see people generalise others like that, especially when I get constant rap from other people from the music I listen to or the way I dress. If I did come on here talking bad about goths, I bet I'd hit plenty of resistance, but there's no issue hipster-bashing. I understand that it wasn't anyone's intentions but like it or not, things that were said were insulting. You yourself said "The crowd has changed from scumbags to hipsters. Not a massive improvement". How is that a fair comparison? Comparing people who dress a certain way to people who are thought to be violent or whatever other connotations scumbag has.

I don't care if you dislike the music or the venue, but when people throw terms like "hipster" around like it's something dirty, and include people that I socialise with within that catchment, I don't see how I could take it as anything other than insulting. Regardless of your right to express your opinion I would think it would be common decency not to want to offend people, just as I wouldn't wish to offend anyone on here either.

I'm regularly told that my local is full of scumbags. Even the locals say it's full of scumbags. I still like it, so fcuk it.

Simply put - nobody is insulting you. We're slagging off the patrons as a whole, using a stereotype. Stereotypes don't fit everybody.

If you say 'Only ugly goth sluts go to Hell,' I'm hardly going to think 'omfg he's calling me an ugly goth slut.' I'm going to laugh it off, or agree if I feel the stereotype is correct.

Being blunt - someone doesn't like the same music as you and doesn't like the same pub as you. None of that is a personal insult, whereas you implying that everybody in this forum will slate you for liking particular music genres is insulting to every member of this forum, because you haven't used a stereotype, you've just made it clear that you don't think this forum is very welcoming.

It's not about music or how you look, ffs. I don't dress like a goth or a rocker, I haven't got a single piercing, and I don't fit any 'rocker' stereotype.

I listen to metal, punk, classic rock and ska. On the other hand, I also listen to trance, electronic, pop, RnB, hip-hop, country, classical, opera and Irish Trad music.

Marty, for example, slagged me to hell over a band I told him to download. He also regularly acts shocked if I stick on a song on his iPod by say, Deadmau5. Why would I take insult to that?

People have different tastes, different opinions and different ideas of what they think is fun/cool or not. Nobody has personally insulted you and I'm sure nobody wants you feeling uncomfortable at all, but I have to address the fact that you seem to feel we're insulting you personally.

Jesus you just outed me as having Deadmau5 on my ipod woman, I would also like to point out I have qotsa, Daft Punk , Kasabian, AC/DC, Marvin Gaye, The Smiths etc on there to try redeem some credibility I hope :pac:.

I don't see how much clearer I can make it so I'll try say it again:

Nobody here has called you a hipster.

Nobody here has insulted you for the music you listen to.

Feel free to slag goths all you like, I'd more than likely join in actually.

There have been no personal insults directed your way. People generalise and stereotype, it's a fact of life. Everybody does it.

Yes, it's common decency not to want to offend people, which is why not a single person has insulted you personally. You're taking offense to things said that have absolutely no part of them aimed at you.

:pac: I have been known on occasion to do a pub crawl around that area which would take in the Bank yes.

Eh, I don't find her overly attractive so that doesn't mean too much to me.

Deadmau5 (Joel) is actually a pretty interesting character! I love his tattoos, and he's a big Minecraft fan. Last I heard, he was dating Kat Von D :p

Skrillex ain't the worst artist in dubstep, although he's quite commercial. A lot of the hardcore dubstep fans see him as a disgrace to the genre, but he does what he does well.

You're being way too sensitive. I would probably be classed as a hipster, and "hipster bashing" is pretty hilarious. No one actually insulted hipsters, they just said the crowd wouldn't be to their taste, big swing.

My dad has been watching 'Diners, drive ins and dives' and 'Man Vs Food' for a few hours.

I hate him. Going to go cry into my rice cakes.

I've never actually listened to him. I did happen to see him at Oxegen one year, but I've no recollection of it.
