Hard Candy is really good. Kind of disturbing though.

Right considering you haven't seen Goodfellas, I have more.

Scarface (With Al Pacino, although the 30s version is a classic as well)
Casino (Similar cast and vibe as goodfellas but it's in Vegas)
    Mean Streets
    Taxi Driver
    Rounders
    Commando (Best Arnie film)
    Taken
    Pulp Fiction
    Trainspotting
    Go
    Clerks II
    Chasing Amy
    O Brother Where Art Thou?
    Big Lebowski

I think that may be enough.

I have actually seen several of those, yay. :)

Ok, I have a list that's much bigger than what I'll actually have time to watch. Guess it's time to narrow the list down and go shopping. :)

And I was right, I have seen Hard Candy. I liked it, from what I can remember. :)

    Much appreciated, lads. :)

Sprry for the triple post , but yeh big fan os Steve Martin love the Jerk. I like Father of the Bride myself but does that not count as a guilty pleasure? It is a bit of a chick flick after all.

I liked it as well. It was funny so who cares. Most of films are great.

Also +1 for John Hughes in the 80s pretty much all his films were great.

I really have to watch troll hunter. MIght do that tonight. Thanks for reminding me.

Brilliant list there not a bad film amongst the bunch.
Oh Hans, the things I would do for him if he would let me, like mend his cardigan.

I've taken Norway off my travel list anyway! Being a Christian and all :p

Seriously loved Troll Hunter one of my favorite scenes

Anyone here had work done by Danny from Skin City Ink? I've been browsing their FB page porfolios and I just fell in love with Danny's flair for shading on animated/cartoony pieces. He did a particularly magnificent Monster's Inc tattoo that blew my mind and made me eager for him to work on my Eeyore tattoo.
That said, I don't know of anyone who have gotten work by him so I ask: What's his bedside manner like? How long would I be expected to be in the chair for? I've included the lineart of my proposed tat idea. I got quoted €180 in Swords Ink, €200 in Stigmata-Tau and €240 for 3 hours work in Skin City. I don't mind paying the higher fee so long as I know I'm getting quality work. :/
    Any suggestions?

I haven't had any work done by Danny but I've been in the shop a couple of times and he's a sound lad (as they all are in that shop). Drawing and tattoo wise he's good but I don't know what he's like speedwise.

In general, it's all good in Skin City but equally I've heard good things about Stigmata.

Can't speak from personal experience, but a few people here have been tattooed in Skin City and from what I've seen, I'd recommend it over most other places in Dublin. 240 for three hours of work is a pretty good price, to be honest. Well, it is from what I'm usually quoted. :pac:

Haven't been tattooed there, but never heard anything but good word about them. If I was getting tattooed in Dublin again, I would be going to Skin City. I would imagine an artist working in a place with the rep of Skin City is gonna professional/polite/understanding of customers, so unless you hear specifically otherwise, I wouldn't really worry about it.

That's a relief. I was really sold on that Monster's Inc piece he did. I saw it and was like "WOW!" Going to save up and get this done, hopefully in time for my birthday. I just hope nothing comes up in the interrim that causes me to have to dip into my savings. Trying to save for a SNES and a tattoo is harder than it appears. *sigh*
Righty-o. Off to go Google a map to South William Street and book a consultation. :) Thanks, folks!

Yeah it is! I was wincing the whole way through a certain scene though (you know the one I mean!)

Ah, not really cos it IS Steve Martin. And of course an added bonus of Eugene Levy. :D

Good luck, McChubbin. :) And if you're looking for a SNES, there's a shop on Talbot Street that occasionally has them for fifty yoyos. :)

Will do! :) What's the policy on bringing cameras to the studio? I know when I was in Stigmata-Tau getting my first tat that it was something of a no-no. Then again, Cahill was a bit moody that day..don't blame him, though. He was doing tribals and stars all day and when I was sitting outside waiting to be called I could hear him actively bitching. It was funny.
He didn't say much whilst he was inking my Mondoshawan elemental symbols other than to recommend Bephantine cream for the after care treatment.
Other than that, not the most chatty chap. Still, he did a good job so I can't complain.

Dunno about Skin City, but I've never been in a studio that didn't allow pics. I have pics of the process of all of my tattoos and it was never an issue in any studio I was in.

Ive been in skin city and had work there myself, have met Danny numerous times through mutual friends even bought a painting he done of the joker once so I can say hes a a nice bloke and cetainly has the talent , and at 240 thats a very good price to be paying considering the quality work they produce in Skin City speedwise I cant say having never had a tattoo of him but I know last time I was talking to him he had mentioned how he was improving all the time on that side of it but at 240 a sitting even if he is a little bit slower that sill great value. Certainly go for it he seems to enjoy doing all them cartoonys fantasy type pieces he himself has a quality Alice in Wonderland sleeve.

I enjoy the atmosphere in the studio aswell always films playing to keep ya occupied Dannys a film buff and there usually a good bit of banter in the place which helps the time pass quicker ive found. Im currently getting a piece done of Remis while I love his work im looking forward to going back to Skin City as hes not the most chatty of blokes.

I don't have a whole lot of room left on my left arm. So it's all small pieces there for me for a while!

My friend who is starting his apprenticeship drew me up this wrestling themed piece to finish my sleeve off for me
