I've booked a trip out to the Florida for this weekend but looking at the weather forcasts it looks like Tropical Storm Irene has been upgraded to a Cat 1 Hurricane and may make landfall in florida for Thursday (teh day I'm due to land).

if the airports are closed can I claim back all my costs ie car hire, villa, flights, park tickets etc from my insurance if we cant travel?

what happens if we are simpley delayed a few days could we claim for anything on the insurance?

It will depend on your policy - the only ones who can answer you for sure are the company. Give their helpline a call.
