Martinez is favorite for the job.

Disappointed he's gone, tbh. He was doing a good job messing up Liverpool :P

Hope he stays down in the Championship at West Ham and meets with Steve Kean again on the sideline not in a courtroom.
Roberto Martinez... A pure flavour of the month mickey mouse manager but we aren't going to attract any top manager we need a manager thats young and on the up or a manager needing to rebuild his image.

McLeash with Kean as his assistant ;)

Doesnt matter who Liverpool appoint, they'll stay a mediocre midtable team for life, unless they get some Saudi Sugardaddies to throw away his Billions..

Liverpool need a Wes Hoolahan. Make a nice 4-4-2 diamond, buy a better striker than Carroll and maybe try and sell him considering he's improving now. Maybe a Darren Bent or a Jermain Defoe level proven Premier League goalscorer.

And also ban posts and crossbars.

Still love Rafa but he lost the dressing room when he left and it'd be a bit Kenny 2.0 in the sense you shouldn't go back, the media hate him too. AVB, doesn't he still wear those thin-foil hats when giving interviews?
I don't know who I want tbh, i'm getting a feeling that we should just build a new stadium and if a top 4 finish happens its a bonus.

Put a quid on AVB at 12/1.

Martinez actually has a pretty good record as a manager.

I think Liverpool suffer from a lack of direction. Kenny always picked a team to play the opposition, they don't have a set A game to suit their own players. That's why they did so well in the knockout competitions. If they had an A game, a set style that the players know and get used to they would get far more league points.

Martinez has a proven record of doing this. He started the Swansea story off in League One, got them promoted and did well in the championship.

With Wigan he kept them up time after time. He has found a way to play that suits his players and achieved it with style this year.

I think he would continue to push the hard work ethic the Liverpool players have but also create a style and method to play the game that will reap results.

He understands the fundamental principles of the game well and is exactly what Liverpool need imo.

I hope he stays well away from them:P

Thought it would be easy being a Pro Wrestling fan, but I only got 27.

Try it, but don't cheat! No peeking on the Internet beforehand and don't look at my answers until you've done it

Head is hurting right now. Got free tickets to gnr last night, delighted with the show. Really wanted to see them but couldn't risk spending the money for an unpredictable show. My buddy in MCD hooked us up. No such thing as a free night though, the price of gargle in there is crazy!

Nah if a series I really liked say Mad Men or Games of Thornes increased the number of episodes by 50% I would have the same issues about quantity over quality. They barely have enough wrestlers and writers to cover material for two two hour shows as it stands.

Ha, funny you should bring that up, I was talking to a mate about exactly this. I'd love for Game of Thrones to move to 90 minutes. 2 hours might be a bit much. They have ~7 storylines running at the moment so nobody gets a proper go in 1 hour.

At the moment we have :
ginger guy Theon who returned to his spiteful family & turned heel
    Arian (Ned's daughter) serving Tywin
    Jon Snow and the wildlings
    Tyrion & Sercei
    Guy who's with the red-haired sorceress/demon baby
Daneri and her dragons in Quarth
    Geoffrey & Ned's other daughter
    Sercei's brother, Prince Lancelot

So everyone gets about 8 minutes per show, lol. It is great, I love watching it, but with so much stuff going on, everything's been given to us in breadcrumbs.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,469 ✭✭✭✭GTR63

Theon is the Garret Bischoff of Game of Thrones imo. There are a LOT of characters in it, don't even know all of their names.

Rather than increase to 90 minutes, just expand the series to 14/15 episodes. I have an awful feeling the last 3 are going to be complete clusterfúcks as there is simply far too much to tie up in the 3 hours remaining.

I only started enjoying this series a few weeks ago. I felt the first 3 or 4 episodes were just far too rushed and far too many new characters thrown at us every scene. This is a shame as the first series was so good top to bottom, that this one cannot possibly live up to it given how much is going on.

It costs an absolute fortune doesn't it?

On the last episode, loved the shock on Theon's face, he
he's not pure evil, he's just horribly out of his depth

Rob Stark can get lost though, easily the weakest link in this series.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,013 ✭✭✭✭jaykhunter

How about reduce to 4 storylines per episode and increase to 15 episodes? :) I did find S1 much more easily digestable than S2, there's far too much to keep track of this season. I imagine "so many moving parts" is on purpose though. Plus too many similar-looking young men all looking for the crown, hard to tell 'em apart, besides Jon Snow. It might be grand for people who already know the universe but just as a prose it's info/character overload alright!

Agreed with Theon. It's interesting to see a guy
who wants to be cruel, evil and a ruler etc but he doesn't really have the conviction or confidence, and constantly forces himself to do these horrible things. It's acted really well. "Hey, come on get up, I've taken over Winterfell."

I have to admit I was disappointed when the whole baby dragons and gowl ghosts turned up.
Gimmick is 100% right though there is a lot to take in

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,013 ✭✭✭✭jaykhunter

Those white walkers were in the first scene of the first episode! I got interested in the show with these fantasy creatures but then they completely removed that and replaced it with political jostling for the throne. I thought it was a bit of bait & switch to be honest!! I've never read the books so I didn't know what to expect.

I'm with u with the black ghost thing, wasn't a huge fan. Maybe it's because it's definitely fiction, whilst a humanoid wild creature in the woods, and a massive flying animal is a bit more believable :p lol!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,054 ✭✭✭D.Q

The books are the same. It gets ridiculous trying to follow all the story arcs, whos ****ing who, whos killing who, who betrayed who. TBH I just got pissed off and frustrated with it and stopped reading during the fifth (i think) book.

Some graphics cards are to new for it and can't display it properly, especially on toshibas. I'm getting calls every week from people who need settings adjusted and tweaked to play it. The kids are crazy for it. Not my kids, kids in general.

Bayern all the way for me, I despise at what the FA have let their once great league become. Money, Money, Money, it aint going to last and the lower league clubs will be the ones to suffer.

When you've light blue jokes buying the league you know you have problems

    Bets for it are...

    Bayern (-2.0) to win.
5 or more goals to be scored.
    10 or more corners.
    Over 50 points in cards.
Bayern to win and Gomez to score.

All only a Euro each so not much profit if they win but still. Guess which team I'm backing :P
