    The government are looking at state assets to sell off, does anyone think Iarnród Eireann would be a good or a bad candidate?

    Well I think we'd have heard about it don't you?

    If the CIE board had decided that they have to make a case to the NTA - which must be done in public and we've not heard anything to that effect yet.

    Just because IE/CIE board make a decision doesn't mean NTA will get an application next day - these are formal documents and will take time to prepare.

    I doubt anyone looking to purchase all or part of IE will want the Limerick-Waterford line with the possible exception of some adjoining farmers, who may wish to wait a few years and then quietly move some fencing.
