Just a question to anyone that knows about the UCD health screening, I know that you have to pay 225 for the health screening, but if you are lacking one of the injections and they have to give it to you, is this covered in the 225 or is it extra?

Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone would be able to enlighten me about research opportunities such as intercalation and PhDs for irish medical schools, particularly TCD. As I tried looking at their page but their wasn't too much info, and I think it would be difficult to contact them about it at this particular time. I'm asking because uk medical schools have quite a few options of intercalated degrees and you can even go to other universities to do them in some instances, whereas TCD seem only to have biomedical sciences.

Generally Trinity is a persons first choice so nobody generally turns it down, unless they put it down as a second choice behind pharmacy/Dentistry IE (they may have got a high Hpat and a leaving cert of 550 or so ) , if these people want to repeat and get their first choice the following year then the points should go down , And i have a couple of friends doing med in galway and they say its the best craic ever hope this helps

I know when I was getting screened and I didn't have my BCG I had to cover the cost of that and organize the vaccine externally because UCD doesn't give that vaccine, though they were able to point me in the right direction! but this was 2 years ago now. Hope that helped

I think it is 172 points from the HPAT.

1. Yeah, my status says the same - I've accepted the offer on CAO so I'm not too sure why?

Hey guys, this is probably a stupid question but do the extra points for HL Maths bring the total you can get in the LC up to 565 or does it stay at 560?

hang on, whats the health screening thing about? is that the thing you pay approx 250€ for to do blood tests and vaccinations? If it is, my gp is doing mine, hope all goes grand

Yeah the max is now 565.
