So, got the parents coming up at the weekend and would like to take them somewhere nice for a sunday carvery. Can anyone recommend any places? Preferably in Dublin City Centre or the south side (dublin 2 or 8). Also reasonably priced.

    thanks

The Exchequer does a great roast dinner - but it just got reviewed in the Irish Times, so it could be booked out for this weekend.

O'Neill's carvery, on Suffolk St., is always very tasty.

    About €10-12 a pop.

Peggy Kellys next to Harolds Cross Greyhound Stadium does a lovely Sunday roast.

That roast in the Exchequer is great. We got dinner for 4 plus a bottle of wine in there for 40 euro earlier this year. The price might have changed now but it was really great, can't recommend it enough.

But you definitely would have to book in advance.

Well if they're getting the bus or train, carvary in Oslo in Connolly Station can't be beat

It's a place hardly anyone knows about

If you want quantity over quality, Sinnots Carvery is fecking huge, and they'll keep piling it on!

Other than that, The Exchequer one is brill, but not really a carvery.

Brass 66 also do a good roast, again not a carvery tho.

Just looking at this thread for additional ideas. Two sets of families coming to Dublin next weekend. Think a carvery would be the best - there will be about 10 adults and 3 children. Can anyone recommend a venue that would serve the dinner as opposed to people queueing for it?? Looking for a location around D6 or D8, reasonably priced.

    Thanks!

Whole point of a cavery is to queue up instead of getting it handed it to you. Peggy Kellys would probably cater for you if you rang up though and told them the situation.

The Old Orchard Inn Rathfarnham have floor staff that will take your carvery order & serve it to your table. It would probably a good idea to ring a day or two beforehand & reserve a couple of tables.
