Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I want to up my climbing and so need to ride some bigger hills.

I plan to start with a spin from Blessington - Hollywood - Wicklow Gap - Laragh - Roundwood - Sallygap - Kilbride - Blessington.

My question is which direction of that loop would be more difficult and how long should it take me.

I would consider myself of average ability and as a guide I completed the tour de Kilkenny 110km route in 4 hrs flat.

Thanks for reading and for any replies. Cheers.:)

Think anti-clockwise would defo be harder if you're going up the side of Lough Tay to Sally Gap. The other way up is just a long not-to-bad drag. Wicklow Gap I find similar from either side.

Agree with that although the final ramp up from the Kilbride side is tough enough.

It depends what type of climber you are - are you better on long drags or steeper stuff? I prefer more gradual climbs and find Wicklow Gap from the Laragh side a bit tougher as there's no real let up in incline. My mate is of the opposite opinion though so it's a preference thing too I guess.

Try both ways and decide yourself :D...
