Anyone awaiting to hear about PhD scholarships at DIT ? If I'm successful, just wondering what are the facilities like for PhD students ? do you get deskspace etc ?

If you're waiting on the Fiosraigh results, then they're not out yet (review panel has yet to meet).
Deskspace depends on the College you'll be working in.
However, with the number of students decreasing (as funding since 2008 has dropped rapidly) you should have no difficulty getting a space.
