Hello, my first post so hope tis in the right place! :)

Any I have been selected for a fas/jobrigde internship.
At the moment I receive the full JSB of 188.00 weekly + rent allowance.

My first question is will the internship payment affect my rent allowance?
and also because I am 24, will they reduce my weekly payment to 150.00?

I have looked on the website but cannot find a clear answer.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

You will continue to receive your full JSB of Euro 188 (plus the extra 50 Euro) and the clock will stop running on the amount of time you have left on JSB - and it will recommence after you complete the internship (if you need to return to JSB)

You will also be entitled to retain your Rent Supplement payment.
Participants will receive €50 in addition to their existing social welfare payment and they will retain all of their secondary benefits

Trainees will still retain secondary state benefits while on internships, such as medical cards, rent supplement or fuel allowance. Read more: http://www.examiner.ie/ireland/firms-urged-to-take-on-interns-paid-by-state-159097.html#ixzz1VyR6P2Iq

Thank you :0 that clears up the RA.
The reason I was confused regarding the 188.00 is it says that people aged between 18-24 will not get 188.oo when taking part in an internship scheme http://www.jobbridge.ie/InternPayment.aspx

(Individuals aged between 18-24 years of age will be entitled to their base rate of social welfare (either €100 or €150 per week) plus the weekly top-up of €50. They are not entitled to the higher rate of social welfare (€188 per week) when they participate in the National Internship Scheme.)

However I hope this means people who are already only receiving 100/150

They are selling this JobBridge internship scheme on the basis that interns will receive an allowance of €50 per week on top of their existing social welfare entitlement. The clause you refer to is just a heads up to those presently on age reduced SW payments to let them know that it's not like Fas courses where participants over 18 are automatically upped from their age reduced social welfare payments to the full Fas training amount of Euro 188.00 for those aged 18 and over. With JobBridge you get what you are currently on plus the 50 euro.

I'm not an expert on it but maybe the citizens info page on it can help you:
