Why were Man City not allowed into Barcelona-Milan's group? At the time they were drawn Milan-Barca's group was available but they were put in automatically with Villarreal and Bayern instead. Some Russian team ended up with Barcelona-Milan from the 3rd pot. Don't see why they could be in with Barca and Milan, but not Man City.

TV rules states that only two clubs from a country can play on a night.

2 english teams must be in groups A-D and 2 in E - H.

As it turns out they couldn't be in it anyway, they were paired with Man Utd and once Utd were in C, City had to be in A, B or D.
