K-Flo is standing in for Joe.

Hard to pick a winner from Griffen fight, think Shogun will win if he is at or close to 100% however not certain of that. Some interesting fighters on the card, like watching Palhares and a few others on the card.

Think Silva will win by (T)KO before championship rounds kick in.

Thanks, I was going to say Kenny would be ideal. Going with Silva via TKO in the second, I expect him to want to win in style at home. Picking Shogun, Barboza, Schaub and Cane on the rest of the main card.

Agree with that except I have a funny feeling Okami might stop Silva !

    What channel is this on?

    ESPN Sat night at 2am!

I was listening to Joe Rogan's podcast a few weeks back and he said he was getting an operation this week on his troath or something for sleep apnia, Dunno why they keep sayin he is filming fear factor. Hope Kenny is as good

hope shogun is 100%, would love to see him back on form, he was well outa shape in last fight, had a bit of man boob action goin on

I dont think okami has the tools to stop silva, they need a lethal striker(Belfort) or wrestler (Sonnen) to stop him. Would love to see a rematch of both those fights, although i think he'll destroy sonnon this time around, he looked as if his ribs were really effecting him in the last fight

Well the prelims should start on facebook around 10.45pm if they're showing them all.

In terms of time zones, Brazil is at around the same latitude as the US so it's probably the same times as usual.

I usually go for Okami, but I dont think he has the style to beat Silva.

He usually just backs his opponents up against the cage with his jabbing style before maybe moving in for the clinch, but he doesn't seem to go for the takedown as much as he did in his early fights. Maybe if he reverts to his old takedown game (and he very well could with Sonnen working with him) he might have a chance of grinding down Anderson (and Okami does not have pillow hands like Sonnen), but if he just stands in front of Silva and tries to back him up, Silva will dance around him and he will get destroyed.

I predict that Anderson Silva will feel like his opponent has in some way disrespected/not treated him with the respect he deserves...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 732 ✭✭✭Xlami

I predict Anderson to win by decision. Schuab could well KO Big Nog in the first but as I'm really hoping this doesn't happen I'll have to be brave and go with Big Nog.

I'll go on record and say Silva will win this and be beaten on Nov 12th on the Fox debut. Hows that?

I'll go on record and say that he will not be fighting in <3 months after this weekend. . . . . .

not sure how okami can possibly beat silva unless he
does something we haven't seen him do before

    silva
    schaub
    shogun
    barboza
    paulo thiago
    palhares

from a betting point of view i just can't look past
schaub, barboza and palhares but at the minute i
have gone big on the schaub/barboza double which
works out slightly under evens now
silva, i just can't back him at 1/6 and just hoping somehow
okami can pull off a miracle
i'd love to see dan miller beat palhares but i don't see it
happening although miller has never been submitted
palhares by sub not too bad though at 21/10 for a guy
who wins by sub so often and might walk away with dans leg.
could be an epic night up till the main event i reckon.
the atmosphere there will be second to none id imagine

kenflo bores me though, don't like it when he's commentating
not in rogans league at all
frank mir is the best i've heard and the only one i'd like to
    see replace rogan

Can't wait for this, really really want Big Nog to win, such a legend! Ye hear that some Brazillians have a facebook page setup to 'lynch' Sonnen if he comes to Brazil haha. Apparently the creator was just 'trolling' but the page got out of hands who really wanted to do it.

Sonnen was supposed to be in Okami's corner, but one of Okami's sponsors threatened to pull out if he was. They didn't like his ongoing racist comments about Brazilians!

    Allegedly.

    PS,

    Silva
    Rua
    Schaub
    Barboza
    Cane
    Thiago
    Palhares

Good night for Brazilians, apart from Big Nog!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 921 ✭✭✭sonic.trip

Can't see Okami or Big Nog winning. Forrest is tough but think Shogun will take it. Palhares by sub. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say pearson on points.

    Silva
    Shogun
    Schaub
    Pearson
    Cane
    Thiago
    Palhares
    Tavares

Guys, is it just me or is the UFC full of sh.t when having videos on their website. Missed the 134 preview on ESPN and can't find it on ufc site. Dont they own their own content?? Also, the post fight pressers seems to be cut up in pieces if you're lucky enough to find it on UFC.com. Does anyone know what is the system in place? Where can I watch a 30 min vid of the whole thing?

    anderson silva via murder
shogun via excessive leg kicks and third rd tko
    brandon schaub by decision

I hope Okami is aware of the following.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 134 ✭✭kingcharles82

okami doesnt have much of a chance if the real silva shows up, if silva isnt intrested (which is always possible),it could be a boring fight!!
lets hope shogun is fit coz if he isnt he could be in for a tough 3 rounds

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 944 ✭✭✭loremolis

Okami is gonna beat the crap out of Silva.

He knows how Chael Sonnen beat him for 4.5 rounds and he's gonna put him on his ass and whup it.

Don't get me wrong, Silva is one of the best ever but Okami is gonna handle him in this fight.

    eh disagree, silva to dominate

Silva is fighting at home and Okami has been nothing but respectful. Even at the weigh ins it was bows and handshakes.

Silva is gonna light him up.

if silva isnt intrested (which is always possible),it could be a boring fight!!

Not in front of a home crowd, can't see it.

If anything this could be classic Silva unleashed.

Silva all day in this one!

As far as the Main Card goes, every Brazilian bar Nog will be taking home wins!

On the undercard, I hope Dan Miller beats Paul Harris (as, in my opinion he is a classless fighter) but I can't see it happening

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,258 ✭✭✭✭MrStuffins

I'll go on record and say Silva will win this and be beaten on Nov 12th on the Fox debut. Hows that?

I'll go on record and bet you €100 that this doesn't happen
Possibly because it's been confirmed by Dana that Silva wont be anywhere near the Fox card :-P

There wont be a title on the line on the Fox card because all the titles are on the line in every nearly event starting tonight and going to UFC 139. A 5 round main event is possible.

Watching Dana Whites VLOG, Big Nog looks in great shape. I would love him to pull off the win, I got Nog by Arm Bar!

Saw another vid as well of Ariel interviewing Forest. Forest taking the piss outta Ariel's fashon sense but he does not look too comfy in Rio.

You simply go to the official UFC page on Facebook here. There's a tab under the profile picture that says "UFC Rio Pre-Lims Live". Yo just click on there tonight when they start and you're golden!

I'd say there'll be some atmosphere at this tonight. Watching the weigh-ins last night, the crowd seemed a bit more lively than regular events in the states. There was a fair bit of cheering and booing, they were very into supporting the Brazilians who were fighting against other nationalities. It was a bit like a football match.

Big Nog seemed to get the biggest cheers of the lot, he's almost like a "Captain Brazil" to Randy Couture's Captain America. He looks in great shape too, I really hope he can get a win tonight.

Pre-Lims are underway! Loveland v Jobouin!

    The crowd are MENTAL!!

There's no Spoiler tag in the title so i'll use tags for the time being
Jabouin won by split decision, but the ref lifted Loveland's arm, who obviously wasn't paying attention either because he put his other arm in the air in victory.

    Embarrassing haha
