People unable to merge/let other cars merge on motorway

It's up to the person merging to do it safely, it's not up to anyone already on the motorway to move over and let anyone in.

As for unmarked TC cars doing stupid things like brake testing people on a motorway to try provoke road rage or something else, or just stupid driving, I've heard at all at this stage, and the sad thing for the country is, I believe it all.

I was overtaken by an unmarked car last year at about 3am somewhere around roscommon, I was the only other car on the road yet they turned on the blues to overtake me, and then continue on their way to wherever (not in any rush)

I had another one do the same a few months before that in galway, only to drive on ahead at the same speed as everyone else, and then return to the station...

    Mind boggles.

I always move to the overtaking lane because the car merging is usualyy traveling slower than me.
Some people just sit in the inside lane and the car merging has to slow right down to merge

People pulling in to take a phone call. In the worst possible places sure throw on the indicator and everyone will go around me or tell you what I'll pull in at the top of the road and people can drive around me on the other side of the road and pull out taking their life in their hands.

Or even better I'll pull in at the side of a motorway and have a chat - or let the kids out to pee.

You're not supposed to pull in on the side of a motorway in most european countries its dangerous in ways most people can't comprehend

lorries that pull up outside petrol stations and park up right outside so you can't see a fecking thing when you're trying to pull out. the one on the N3 going into Navan is a really bad one for it cos there's a bend in the road too.

people who park very short cars right into parking spaces in busy car parks, usually behind a van or something else big enough that you think the space is empty till you're on top of it. :(

Drivers who think they can just drive in the middle of the road to pass out a cyclist or parked car forcing on-comming traffic to drive onto the verge.

I met some of those people, sitting in the left lane, blocking cars from entering with that lame excuse.
It's the height of ignorance, I then have to either accelerate hard and get in front of them anyway, or get behind them and overtake anyway.
Why just sit there like a lemon and not let anyone in?
It's just thick headed, "I Am Entitled!", fcuk anyone but me, sure I KNOW how to drive, ignorant attitude.
If cars are merging I let them in, like anyone would be taught who took a proper driving test in a country that takes that kind of thing serious.
In Ireland the policy seems to be "Do NOT let that fcuker merge!"
Politeness and manners do also come in there somewhere.

I often find myself having to slow down as people brake in front of me on the entrance slip roads - pathetic that I'd got up to 100km/h and had to slow to 60km/h because some idiot is in my bloody way

When i'm on an on-ramp, I pick a gap and accelerate into it. TBH, i'd rather the traffic not start swerving around on my account.

Well obviously the other side is that the person merging should put the foot down, there will always be those who think that driving slow=safe, therefore merging onto a motorway at 60 km/h is the safest thing you can possibly do.
Sadly the 60k moron brigade is everywhere, but even they have to be taken into account.

I've also recently noticed people (idiots) who've decided to piss down the furthest right lane 110-140km/h which is great for them because they will eventually hit a truck and natural selection will take its aim at them.

The issue with this is that people are no entering a motorway in which you have cars doing this sort of speed in the wrong lane because there seem to be a total ignorance of the '3rd' lane as if its somehow illegal.

The way parents just abandon their car anywhere to pick up the little darlings from school
    Motorway lane hoggers
People who overtake you and then slow down
People who drive in the right hand lane of the motorway and then swerve across in front of you so they don't miss their exit
People who brake every time they see a car coming towards them (seems to get particularly bad at night)
People who don't dip their main beams for oncoming traffic
People who slow to 60kph to pass a go safe van in a 100 zone
