    Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone knows of any builders who specialise in soundproofing. As in proper airtight room within room type construction.
Idea is to build few soundproof music recording rooms within warehouse type building and they need to be properly soundproof rooms.
Anyone know of anyone that I can contact?
Want to try get quotes etc

    cheers

go on gearslutz.com and research the building of such rooms.

Are you talking the whole hog? suspendedfloors etc?

if not you could talk to a kingspan rep. and they would advise construction methods for best acoustic isolation.
They have systems they use for cinemas and such.

    it is expensive.

a friend of mine has a studio in a warehouse in dublin, he built it out of kingspan products in a corner of a multi occupant warehouse and i think he's happy out!

i'm sure he'd show you, pm if you interested

    Thanks Slavetothegrind,
Yeah I have been on gearslutz and I know every build is different etc.
Havent come across what I'd be after. I basically be wanting a few rooms, about 15ftx20ft each set up within a warehouse or commercial unit to be soundproof for when a live band are playing without neighbouring units getting disturbed etc. Not to knowledgeable on the way of the build but I know it's a tricky thing to achieve.
Just need to get a ball park figure of what the cost might be.

Studio as in music studio? Does your mate use bands? and is kingspan good for soundproof? Thought it was more for insulation and heat loss etc?
