Welcome to Carlow, you'll never want to leave!

If you want a map of the town with the housing estates and most of the shops etc. Call into Student Services in the college, it's really up to date and very handy for the first week or so :)

Can you be slightly more specific, there is a tesco and a superquinn (and boscos butchers home of the nicest steak burgers ever) and loads of nightclubs. Is there something in particular you're looking for?

loads of nightclubs? did seven more open up while I wasn't looking?

all I can think of is the foundry and the edge, and the only reason anyone goes to the edge is because they're barred from the foundry.
    and the foundry's ****e.

All the general pubs are pretty good; Scraggs, Tullys, Med Bar, Barracks, O'Loughlins, Leveretts would be the mine ones, although there is still loads more around. (Including the casino's after everywhere has closes)

Foundry is the main nightclub (I'll assume the guy talking about the Edge is going back to when it was called that a while ago?) the other nightclub is The Temple. IMO Neither are very good. 12E into the Foundry on a Sat night, and I believe 7E into the temple of a Sat?

Theres Aldi, Lidl, Tesco, Superquinn, Supervalue, Dunnes, and probably more that I can't think of.

The college itself has some good sports grounds (Astro pitch, Gaelic/Hurling pitch, Rugby pitch, Football pitch)

Fairgreen is the main shopping center now, and there's another (Froget what it's called now?) has shops such as Jack&Jones, Game Stop, RiverIsland, New Look, Next, Camp. Sports, Argos and more.

    :)

pubs and house parties are where it's at in carlow, like the guy above me said there are at least great pubs if you're into loud pop music and women in short skirts

if you're into rock or live music you're pretty ****ed though

No *completely* - The Barracks tend to have a live Rock band on some nights, Leveretts have a live band of a Thursday night (Local band), O'Loughlins have a live band twice a week I believe (Local Band), and sometimes the tower have a decent band playing, although that's only on big event nights I think.

But in truth, the nightlife is Carlow is the big thing IMO. Yes, the general ****ty DJ's play the top 20 on repeat for the night, but there's always some fun to be had!

My advice would be to not bother with The Foundry or The Temple, unless you REALLY don't want to call it a night, and everyone else is going.
I might be wrong with saying this, but I think it's only 5E in on Wed, Fri & Sun?

Those street view pictures were taken specifically in the early morning,
6am-ish. Purpose of it is to see the streets/buildings, don't want the town flooded with traffic while they're taking them.
You're going to love Carlow, at least for a year..
