    Hi Guys,

So I know this is another help thread but bear with me it's been 4-5 years since my lastbuild due to dell messing up my last pre-built and replacing it after first year and half with upgraded pc.

So what I'm a looking for is a rock solid gaming build that will last me 2 years at least, budget is 1500 , monitor currently is 1950x1650 ( think this is correct it's 20 inch widescreen . I won't be upgrading this right away but I will be soon for something bigger .

Appreciate any advice you can give .

Thats some budget. If its a pure gaming build I would go with something like this:

    Total build cost: €1,292.86 + €30 shipping
    Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit (SB-Version) €74.51
    Intel Core i5-2500K Box, LGA1155 €175.58
    2 x Club 3D Radeon 6950 2048MB, AMD Radeon HD 6950, PCI-Express €215.24
    Crucial M4 128GB SSD 6,4cm (2,5") €160.64
Scythe Mugen 3, für alle Sockel geeignet €33.75
    ASRock P67 Extreme4 (B3), Sockel 1155, ATX €128.51
    Samsung SpinPoint F3 1000GB, SATA II (HD103SJ) €45.14
Samsung SH-222AB bare schwarz SATA €16.53
XFX PRO650W Core Edition Full Wired Power Supply €67.23
FRACTAL DESIGN Gehäuse DEFINE XL Black Pearl €123.41
    8GB-Kit G.Skill RipJaws-X PC3-10667U CL9 €37.08

Thats way overkill for a single monitor, but you did say you were planning on upgrading that later on.

So used the first build as a starting point and pulled the below together looking for feedback on it.

after looking over price options i can afford a monitor, have dropped crossfire cards as i will not be playing on 2 monitors.

The two 6950s will be better than the 580. The 580 is very bad value for money. If you want to go for one powerful card, how about a 570 now and an upgrade later to a second one?

You don't need a 1KW PSU either way.

The 2600K won't give you much advantage over the 2500K in games. The marginal cost is best spent elsewhere.

deconduo's build is better overall. You could swap the case, a Z68 board and choose different graphics cards to suit your own wants.

+1 for this. Even a 6950 flashed to a 6970 would be plenty and add another later. 700-800w would suffice for your power supply. If your looking for a good z68 MB the Asrock has been getting good reviews and is great value.

Also, you're going to want something else, rather than just the 1.5TB green drive. Look into an SSD as well, or a Barracuda XT if you just want the one drive.

3GB video card is useless. If you're getting a 580, get the 1.5GB version and save a bit of money.
