Paint safe for infant's furniture

Hi,

I've bought this plain changing table in Ikea http://www.ikea.com/ie/en/catalog/products/20045205and I want to brighten it up and paint with a paint that I can also wipe down. The problem is that I am clueless. What paint would be suitable and safe? Is it a gloss? Any brand to avoid, or that you might suggest?

BIN prime it first,then give it a few coats of satinwood or gloss. they can both be cleaned down.

I would suggest doing all painting outside if you have a baby in the house, especially using the bin primer, it really stinks while wet.

Thats the bin primer alright, but you will only need a litre of it. Should set you back no more than a tenner.

That farrow and ball is good but the prices are ridiculous.

If your not too worried about a particular colour of gloss, go to your local paint shop and they will have cans that were mixed, but may not have matched what the customer wanted. You will probably get them at half price.

If not get a litre of Dulux gloss in whatever colour you want. A half desceant brush will only set you back a fiver.

Cool - might head up to Woodies tomorrow and see what we can get. Good tip on the mixed gloss. I'll ask and see what they have. I just want something more cheery so they might have something. Thanks

BIN Primer is the way to go, I would go with Colortrend paints. Very high quality and Irish which is even better! Dundalk store, the staff are very helpful there.
