Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

what can i do with 6 lambs that are weighing over 50KG plus but dont have enough flesh on... i cant take them to the fractory cause they are overweight and i will be penalised. you cant trust the butchers in our area.... they mightnt be telling you the right weights...... i cant get to the mart for a few weeks due to work commitments.......

    suggestions....

what breed are they, under fleshed lambs Suffolks or Charollais would be lucky to kill 42-44% Texels might kill better. 44% would be a 22kg carcase which is fine.

You might be aswell to bring to the factory now as if they are ram lambs they are not going to get any fleshier if anything they may go back a little. If they are wethers you could try dose them and fed them a bit of meal to flesh them out and bring as butchers lambs to the marts.
If there ewe lambs hold onto them for another month and they will still sell well.

How did you let them go for so long?

they are scotch ram lambs that i didnt squeeze. i had an idea of keeping them for hogget rams but i have changed my mind. i have a load of others but they are not uo to 40 KG yet. i can put flesh on them fine.

if you are too busy for a few weeks i would just factory them, if they are not well fleshed the wont kill out that heavy anyway - check what the factory is paying up to - most of them will be borderline
