Cameras on Curraghline past Corrandulla

    Anyone have an Idea what the CCTV Camera's are for on RHS of road past Corandulla Garda station (Comming from Galway) :confused:
    they Pointing into a field with a no dumping sign on it !
    To catch litter louts perhaps ?

    They aren't facing the field they're facing the road and i think it's because someone was doing doughnuts on the road at night and it was markin the road and its dangerous and stuff but ya cant see it now since they did up the road :)

    Seems like alot of trouble & expense :eek: to see who is doing Doughnuts on the road !!! anyone got any other Explanation ???

    camera was put up due to the drag racing & donuts being pulled...area was becoming a death trap with boy racers on sat nights - this location was picked as it catches the n galway/mayo side coming in the rd.

    Some people think they're speed cameras but they couldn't be considering the direction they are pointing. They're probably for the bastard boy racers doing doughnutds alright as they had the road destroyed from the barracks down as far as there. Just seems a bit of a waste as surely they'll just do it a hundred yeards further down / up the road.

    Should have put a hidden camera there instead for a few weeks and gathered evidence / prosecuted every last one of them.

    They're actually for monitoring water flow in the water mains under the road there. Don't know the technicalities!
