3 NBS coverage problem.....

Hi everybody. I have been with 3 (NBS) for a number of years. I live in an old cottage which has very thick walls and so my phone and router signal suffer. However I have found a spot by the window which gives me reasonable coverage. If I take the modem outside the house I have full coverage and no problems. I have rang 3 customer care a number of times about getting the aerial outside the house but have been told that because I live in an area where the coverage is good they can't do anything (I don't think they quite understood my problem). I am getting really frustrated with this and would love to know is there anything else I can do, or indeed that 3 should do. I got a booster from 3 but whenever I plug it in and switch it on, I lose all signal on my router. Somebody please HELP ME!!!!!!
