Standard and Ultimate edition were the same price in Xtravision.

What a ridiculous pricing structure. Forcing people to pay the extra €10 for features they may not even use.

Believe it or not the cost price from EA is exactly the same.

A lot of games (mostly EA) have stopped printing manuals and just have the controls in the options menu..

Will it come up when they scan the barcode though? That's what I'm worried about.

No mate i bought a game from the internet and traded it in at a GAME shop, the guy scanned it and gave me the trade in price :-)

€49.99 was it Denis? Looks like Tesco is the best option if you're not doing the trade-in deal.

So judging by the last few posts in this thread:

    HMV: €45

    Is this correct?

It's €47.99 for standard in Gamestop Tallaght. But I traded in 3 games so only paid €3 :)

Believe it or not the cost price from EA is exactly the same.

So you're saying that you sell the game at a loss?

There are times we would yes but in this case what I meant was that EA have the same cost price for the special and normal editions. A poster had remarked om Xtravisions pricing strategy as being strange as the normal and special editions were the same retail price.

The stores you see now selling special editions for different prices than the normal are making more on the special edition than on the standard. That's not neccessarily that they are making profit on the normal edition at all - it looks like the special edition pricing is subsidising the normal.

My mother told me she has a voucher from Tesco that gives you €6 off if you spend €40 or more, so i'll be going there. It would be woth a shot giving your mother/wife/girlfriend/sister a call and see if she has one.
