Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I wouldn't get hung up too much on breed. It depends on what you want to sell at the end of the day! (The day you buy is the day you sell and all that!). Suppose it's hard to look beyond Charolais or Lim for availability if nothing else.
I dunno what 'a few acres' is but I always found that bullocks like bit more ground under them than heifers and take longer to finish generally. If ground was a limiting factor I'd consider a few heifers.

When do you plan on finishing them by?

If you buy a 250kg bullock now then he is a very long way from being finished i.e. you'd be doing very well and have spent a fortune to have him finished before the second winter

planned on keeping them close to the 30 mth mark so im expecting to winter them twice but have a herd no. i want to keep and hopefully add a few more next spring . my shed isnt the best so wanted to winter them as long as possible hence the 250ish size so they wont cut up the land so bad . had a few before and always liked the charlois.
