Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi, could anyone recommend a good bicycle shop in Portlaoise that does repairs, stocks cycling gear etc

I got a flat yesterday when out, I want to get it repaired. Id also like to pick up some spare tubes, tools for emergency tube changing on the side of the road.

    Thanks

I think there's only one bicycle shop and Halfords in Portlaoise. Do you mean you want to repair it or you want the shop to repair it?

You have a choice! Kavanagh's on Railway street or Laois cycles on the one-way street at the bottom of Main Street (heading towards the roundabout out the Timahoe Road). I go to Laois cycles because it's closer to me, but both are very good. There is Halford's as well, but I prefer to support one of the other two.

Great, I will stroll down at lunch time.

You're really going to have to learn this most basic skill. I'm sure someone will show you this. If you're around Kilkenny or Carlow, I would show you no problem. Hope this video helps.

I popped into Kavanagh's at lunch time. He changed the tube there infront of me, showed me the basics. Cost €8, so that seemed very reasonable. Ill be out again tonight, hopefully no more flats for a while.

A very nice man, we got chatting about hurling, i was nearly late back for work.
