    Hi all,

Have been trying to get back into running of late and was just wondering if anyone had any good websites to buy running shoes or running spikes from. All the sites I seem to come across are full of gear that is way too expensive.

    Thanks.

I would suggest that you avoid websites unless you know exactly what you're going for. A running (not a general sports) shop that provides gait analysis is probably the best bet. If you tell us where you are I'm sure that we can make a few suggestions.

Yeh I'd have to agree with Clearlier there. If you're only getting back into running then making sure you have the right runners with a good fit is the most important thing. The last thing you want is to order off a website and then have to send them back because the fitting is a bit off or the cushioning is a bit too much!

    Also, you say
All the sites I seem to come across are full of gear that is way too expensive.
What sort of budget are you looking at?

    thanks for the reply guys,

where would be the best place to get a gait analysis as well. Would I be better off getting customised insoles as well as the runners. I guess my budget would be in the region of 100 euros.

    Cheers.

    Where are you based?

Shouldn't be too hard to pick up a pair for €100. You can spend more but usually there isn't any need to.

I believe that runways on parnell street do gait analysis on a treadmill. If you're willing to travel a bit further Amphibian King have stores in Ballymount and Bray where they have a short track which I understand to be a better method. I go there and have always got good advice.
