Any back ways of getting into midwifery?

I would love to do midwifery afterschool, preferably in NUIG but I would do it in other places too.
But, I don't think I will get the points for it :/
Does anyone know if there is anyway of me getting into the course without all the points, like doing another course first, maybe a FETAC course? or something?

Or should I just drop the idea of becoming a midwife and think of something else..

Hi AmourRoo, I am a LC reapeat mainly because I wanted to study Midwifery in NUIG. I only managed to get 400 points this year and the points for midwifery went up to 445. I got offered a place in St Angelas General Nursing and although it will take me 4 years to graduate I plan on specialising in Midwifery after this.

The main routes to take to enter the course are:
Nursing studies PLC in GTI. If you get top 1st ir 2nd in the class you can progress onto NUIG.
    OR
Wait until you are a mature student (23) and apply
    OR
Repeat the leaving certificate and study like mad!!

Hope this helps and best of luck in the future!
