Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Advice on cheap new bike!

    Hello Everybody,

I've decided to try cycling to college (Ringsend to Belfield) to save a few bob and up my (very low!) level of fitness.

I've a very tight budget and I'm terrible for having great intentions but not good on carrying through so I don't want to spend a lot of money.

I'm thinking of the following two bikes and would appreciate any advice from people who are in the know! I know nothing about cycling and the only things I'm really worried about are comfort (the more comfortable I am the more likely I am to actually cycle!) and simplicity!!

I would be buying this from a bricks and mortar shop (€195) and not from this website.

I would be buying this online (depending on p&p).

I know from reading on here that there is very little difference in bicycles at this level. I suppose I'm more wondering if anybody knows of any reason that I definitely should not buy either of the above!

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Brgn Hntr.

If your on a budget, why not visit rothar.ie? They might have something suitable and would be cheaper. Ringsend to belfield is not too far.
