Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Moving out of rented accommodation

Our lease is up in 2 weeks, and we're moving out, the bill is my friends name and our last bill was about a month ago.

Do we have to ring up and cancel, or do we transfer it into the landlords name or what? Never had to do this before!

    Hi Stevo2007,

As the bill is in your friend's name, he would need to ring Customer Care on 1850 372 372 and provide a meter reading from the day the you are moving out. This would close your account and you would be sent a final bill to your forwarding address based on the usage up to this final reading. It would then be up to the landlord to set up the account in his own name.

If you have any further questions please ask :)

    Thanks,
    Mark

On a completely related topic - I'm about to move out of one rented accommodation and directly into another - as well as closing off the account in my current accommodation, is it possible to get my existing acccount ( incl existing direct debit) to follow me to my new house?

    Hi Mollie Breathna :)

If you send me, by private message, the account number, the name of the account-holder, confirmation that you are the named account-holder, and the contact number or email address on the account, I'll look into that for you.

We just require verification of those details for data protection/security.

    Regards,
    Una
