Bike theft fail

Left my bike locked outside the Ferryman on the south quays for about 15 mins yesterday evening, about 4.15. When I got on it and went to cycle off, my chain jammed and snapped. Looks like some little basket tried to steal it, probably jumped on my U-Lock, bent the front derailleur. I think that needs to be replaced :mad:…

All that section of Dublin north and south is full of bike thief's.
Bike sheds beside conference center on northside are like a shop for the little Beestards

Hi, Im starting college in Dublin in the following days and am planning to bring my own bike up. Was wondering how much I should spend on a decent bike lock? Also how common is theft in Dublin?
