Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'd like to put something together as cost effectively as possible.
I have some questions that I'd appreciated some input on

    1) for 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1 systems can i use cheap ceiling mounded speakers for the RL and RR units? if so where could I get them,
    something like this
    http://cpc.farnell.com/_/51-795/two-way-hi-fi-speaker-ceiling-mount/dp/LS02792

    2) For the front speakers can they be mounted in the ceiling, can i use something similar or do they need to be cabinet type units that are point out at the user, would something this "cost effective" work?

    3) is there any point getting a DNLA receiver if I'm going to use a passive media center PC to play music and movies ? I don't think there is, I like the units with this function but I'm sure the GUIs are not as nice as something like Boxee and I can run applications on my phone that are free? so a budget Av receiver, I have been looking at ones in Richer sounds for below the 300 mark.

    4) would I be better buying an all in set like this
    http://www.richersounds.ie/asp/product.asp?ObjectID=938&Mode=0&CategoryID=3&SUB=26&ProductID=1147
I've the ceilings down at the moment and have pulled in cables to ceiling mounted positions, but I can move them towards the wall.

If you know of a better deal or something as good but cheaper, or better but a little more expensive please let me know.

    5) Should i wait and hope for that nice set to appear on Ibood again?

    6) If anyone is selling suitable gear for me let me know, maybe you are upgrading etc, but I'd need all the functions on the richersounds amp as a minimum so maybe the value is in the new off the shelf systems.

    7) have a pair of monitor bronze 1 speakers, could they fit in here somewhere?
    http://www.audioreview.com/cat/speakers/floorstanding-speakers/monitor-audio/bronze-1/prd_124863_1594crx.aspx

    8) I have a left over NAD c320 stereo amp is it worth anything? I see one sold for 100 euro on adverts, so it's worth that i guess :)

    thanks all
