Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Interesting looking feature swirling in off the west coast.

It seems to be breaking up a small bit now.

    Press play it's even better!

Can a MOD edit the title, and switch around radar and rainfall..should be 'Rainfall radar image'

Nice capture. Not often you would see a radar image like that. It's almost like the banding seen around the eyewall of a hurricane!

The back of the main band on the east coast passed me whilst in Drogehda earlier on, some rain from it but didn't get any thunder...was looking at it coming down the M1...fantastic looking sky. Like a summer's day here since it passed.
That other swirl is lovely...any t-storms down around that?

Unfortunately no, just a few heavy showers and a stiff breeze.

Dark skies all around and blue sky above as the "eye" passes over me.

That thing has been spinning over Galway for over 2 hours. Must be kinda damp down there.

No more than usual. It actually failed to deliver much besides a few heavy showers.

Eye of the hurricane passing over here now:

    akcnz5.jpg

    Conditions: Heavily overcast with light showers. 10.3c / 93%RH / Wind Direction S veering W / 993.4mb steady in a falling trend.

Edit: pressure now rising: 993.7mb. Winds now gusting 32mph WSW.

How it looked on the met eireann radar between 1.30pm 4th Sept & 1.00am 5th Sept:

EDIT: Updated radar image up to 1.00am.

Mullingar reports an hourly rainfall total of 4.2mm between 11pm & 12am as the little system moved over. Wind was east at 6 knots. 9c/96%RH. MSLP 997mb which shows low center is filling as it moves east across Ireland. Low now in over south Meath/north Dublin area.

Similar swirl moving across the midlands on the radar now! Looks cool but disappointed to hear it's not as dramatic on the ground :(

Looks more like a blob of rain now as it moves over North Dublin. Some brief heavy rain in it but cleared up now.
