So, I've got a bit of free time again and I'm considering how best to upgrade my PC. At 3 years old, it's beginning to show it's age. Since I saw the (cheap) graphics cards with Deus Ex on overclocker, I reckoned I may as well bite the bullet now since I'd be buying that anyhow.

If you could give the following a quick look over please, it'd be appreciated. I don't think I've made any blunders, but it's better to be sure. Mainly this PC is used for gaming but the occasional few optimisation based simulations will be run on it when work gets busy. I'm happy enough to spend up to about €600 on it but I'm happier around €500 I reckon.

If anyone has a recommendation for a monitor, that'd be appreciated as well. My budget for that is about €200 (though could go a bit higher if it's needed). My current Acer (al2216w) maxes out at 1680X1050 which isn't great.

    Cheers for the hand

    Total build cost: €457.68 + €44 shipping: €501.68
    Intel Core i5-2500K Box, LGA1155|€173.55
    8GB-Kit G.Skill PC3-10667U CL9|€30.59
    MSI P67A-GD53 (B3), Intel P67, ATX, DDR3|€112.19
    OcUK ATI Radeon HD 6870 1024MB GDDR5|€141.35

The components I'm currently planning to keep from my current system are the following:

    Gigabyte Triton 180 case
    Corsair PSU VX550W
    Samsung SpinPoint F1 750GB SATA2 32MB 7200RPM
Sony NEC Optiarc DVD±RW burner, 20x
    Kingston SSD V+100 96GB
    Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
