What does it mean when a person in the military says something like "The objective is 3 clicks away".

What does that mean? 3 miles, kilometers?

In the British Military is "K's" or pronounced "Kay's".

What is it in the Irish military? When I worked with them in Bosnia they used K's.

K for kilometer, not particularly a military thing!

I wondered about that. I've read many references to "clicks" and I was curious how they taught kilometres to American troops in Vietnam, who were educated in the Imperial system.

I understand a "klick" in Vietnam is 1000(one thousand) paces
