Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Any opinions on the Lapierre Raid 500?

I'm thinking of getting the Lapierre Raid 500 and was wondering if anyone had any opinions. Is it any good? Any reviews? Has anyone got something similar? Is there something better for that price (around E800)?

I'm a beginner, but really want to give mountain biking a serious go. I'll also be using this to cycle to work (about 15km round trip) a few times a week.

I imagine you need to stick with Cyclesuperstore. So have a look on the Cubes as well

    http://www.cyclesuperstore.ie/shop/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=232&idproduct=39986
    Eur 979 Nice components

EUR 879 More on your budget

They usually will give you a 10% off on the bike price if using the Cycle to Work.

Don't forget to get the Helmet and some commuting lights with the bike! ;)

Thanks bikedude. Would you recommend the Cube over the Lapierre?

They are good brands bought of then. Is more a personal taste at the end. The first cube has better components then the lapierre, but you will pay more for it.

I would definately buy the Cube over the Lapierre - the spec is significantly better! The Cycle Super Store will always tend to push the Lapierres over everything else! Nothing wrong with it but definately better value in the Cube - personally I'd try and stretch for the more expensive Cube too!
