Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

I am looking for nice routes for cycling. I did already Derorua, and road along Lough Corrib from Oughtereard.

Any intresting roads in Burren or other areas? Dont like much cars on the road.

    Thanks.

There are a few routes here

I've done the coastal one, was good. Quite a few cars though.

If you go out past Rahoon cemetary you come to Barna golf club from there is minor road that you can follow west. If you go right at the y junction at the end you eventually end up on the Spiddal to Moycullen Rd. Turn left for Spiddal and come in via the coast but this tends to be very busy. Better to turn right and descend to Moycullen. Dont follow the main N59 back to Galway but head towards the Corrib and use the back roads to get back to the N59 where it has more width closer to the city.

Interesting route worth checking out - I've done a lap of Barna, golf club, N59 back in as you get to it on the wide section.
Never been on that minor road - is there a sign for a pitch & putt course up there or have I got the wrong road?

Yeah, done a couple of these but the amount of cars and tour busses make it uncomfortable and very unsociable when cycling with others. Hard to beat the westport to achill off-road trail which is brilliant. Some of it is still on-road but this is being sorted and will be a major facility. Hopefully the Galway to Clifden greenway will happen next year.
