    Hi

    I was just wondering if someone would be able to tell me if i could cash a cheque that my mother gave me in the bank? its AIB and its not crossed!!

    As far as I know, a uncrossed cheque can be cashed in the branch it is drawn on, with suitable ID.

    its not my home branch that i will be cashing it from...does that matter?

    All the matters is that it is the branch that the account the cheque is from. If that is not your branch you will need ID passport or driving licence, I am assuming that this is not a large cheque.

    its was for 500...so had to lodge it in the end...they wouldnt let me cash it....
