Can we possibly have a politics-wide ban on people making false claims of party affiliations in order to dismiss a poster's point ?

It's fine if someone has stated that they are a member, obviously, but I've had to correct a number of people who have done this over the past few days and it seems like a trivial one to "report", but it does imply that the poster making the false claim has no interest in debating the facts and wants to pretend to themselves and others that there is some tribal/civil war/illogical reason for having a particular stance / opinion.
