Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Retirements in February..How many primary teachers will retire?

I know there is no definite way of knowing until November but anedotally speaking, I'm wondering how many primary teachers might retire in February? I know myself of 5 teachers between 2 schools in Dublin who are definitely going to retire. It seems any teacher on the verge on retirement is just going to bite the bullet and go. I'm still waiting on the supplementary panel in my home county to clear and won't have a job by the looks of things until there are some retirements.

@icescreamqueen - Would you have any idea do teachers need to give notice by November of their intention to retire by end of Feb 2012?
Not a teacher myself - but a family member is close to retirement age (2 or 3 years to go) and is completely unsure of this situation.
Doing a bit of research on this but am coming to this new so unaware of the facts....

Or if anyone else has info - please share it here.

All teachers are required to give 3 months notice of their intention to retire.

All teachers are required to give 3 months notice of their intention to retire.

This is the Dept's requirement. However, the TUI is still saying that one month is fine, as to change it to three months would be changing conditions of service.
