Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Red Hair and Swimming

    Hey Guys,

Not sure if this is in the right forum so mods please feel free to move. I have red hair (bottle dye), using Schwarzkopf Live Permanent Dye. When I shower for the first few weeks obviously there is red in the water, but I was wondering would this be the case with swimming too, as it is not hot water? I have recently joined a gym and would like to use the pool, sauna, and steam jacuzzi, but I am concerned that the hair dye will run. After a few weeks I would be fine but I would love to go now!

It will bleed - I have been in a sauna with dye dripping down my face and neck - even though my hair was tied back - due to a fresh dye job (not a good look, and it was all over my towel when I wiped my face!). I have heard a horror story from one of my friends about someone getting into a pool and their dye bleeding so I haven't tried this myself (too chicken to embarrass myself!). If I were you, I would wait until taking the plunge! Maybe after a few washes it would be safe to go into the pool but I don't know about anywhere there is a lot of heat!

I was using that dye when I went on holidays earlier this year. It had stopped bleeding in the shower by the time we went but I did find that by the time I was going home again I was a ginger with my viberent red gone :(
I dyed a lot of hotel towels after the pool but didn't run while I was swimming or anything
