Do I get a grant for postgraduate study in the UK (ex Northern Ireland?)

I''m from the republic and am planning to go to Scotland to do a Phd in Scotland in 2012. Does anyone have any idea if I would still be eligible for a means-tested grant or get my fees paid, or any other kind of funding?

Thanks in advance! Any information would be brilliant! x

Nothing I'm afraid, not from Ireland anyway. You could apply for scholarships/bursaries/research council funding as a UK student would but you won't get a grant or your fees paid through the Irish system.
