Unforetunately there's no short route any more now that there is no ferry from the UK.

So instead - Dublin to Holyhead, across to Hull and on the ferry again to Esbjerg. Then a few choices, on the ferry onwards, but recommend Hirtshals to Larvik Ferry.

Motorhomes are viewed with mixed feelings in Norway, ze Germans have made a bad name with the locals by buying nothing locally and leaving only their **** behind... But there tends to be plenty of places to stop and with good facilities.

The season is May to Sept any time outside this and you risk getting into trouble with snow in the mountains. You won't see scenery anywhere else like it and the roads are of an excellent standard.

(Sometimes what we call a motorhome, they call a mobile-home in English BTW)

His crewcab is 6.5l. That must account for most of the fuel consumption?

Been to Norway twice in the last 4 years on a motorcycle, visiting Lofoten island both times, word of advice to anybody thats not been there....go

Best way in my opinion is from Dover to Dunkerque, some really cheap crossings if you pick the right time , driving direct to Denmark, new bridge to Malmo or to the top of Denmark & take a ferry to Southern Norway, one way or the other take the route north through Norway taking in the glaciers as you progress northwards

Mind blowing to say the least, friend of mine took a Volkswagen Transporter van (not converted) from Cork to Lofoten a few times and wild camped all the way, often texting me parked on the roadside by a Glacier and describing hearing it calf, spotted this camper at the same location heading north last visit, that was the trigger that made my buy mine
