Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

New Bike

I currently have a Lapierre Shaper 100 which is just over a year old however I hope to upgrade to a racer and by next summer be able to compete in some minor races.

My main reason for starting to cycle was fitness and to keep my weight in check, mildly achieving that.

I would appreciate some advice on a good entry level racer, I have checked the websites and called into a few local bike shops [based in Cork city] and they all seem to carry different products, Cube, Lapierre, Trek and all have bikes in my price range - which is max €1,200 but unsure as to what exactly I should be looking for regards frame, gears etc.

I have gone through some of the threads on here but they seem to be a few years old in relation to buying a bike.
