I'm repeating this year and since I got an A1 in Ordinary Irish last year, the teacher said I could give Higher Level a go this year. I was just wondering what the new course consists of? And what's the story with 40% oral now?
Appreciate it if someone can just explain what's on each paper:D
    Thanks!

The oral is worth 40% now. It consists of the general conversation, reading a poem and discussing one of 20 pictures (which you will have prepared in advance.)
Paper I consists of the Cluaistuiscint (it's on Paper I now instead of being a separate thing) and the essay/short story/debate. The Cluastuiscint is 10% afaik but I'm not sure how much the paper is worth as a whole. And then onto (the dreaded) Paper II. You'll have to study either:
    (i) 5 poems, 5 prose and a novel/play
    (ii)10 poems, 5 prose.
Most schools seem to be doing option (i). As for Paper I, I'm not too sure of the percentage of PII.
I'm also 99% sure that the Reading Comprehension is now on Paper II instead of Paper I. Sorry; I'm not sure on that part!

Hope that helped! Good luck, it's a difficult course!
