My mate needs to upgrade asap! he has the guts of €500

    Here is his old spec.

1 x Acoustic Insulation for Case

    1 x Windows XP Home edition, SP2

    1 x M-Audio Radium 49 controller keyboard

    1 x M-Audio Audiophile 24/96 soundcard

1 x 350W Ultra Quiet Power Supply, Nexus

1 x PC7 Aluminium ATX Case, 9 bays, Lian Li

    1 x NEC ND-3520A Dual Layer DVD 16X

    1 x 1.44 Mb Floppy Drive

    1 x 80 Gb 7200rpm Hard Drive

    1 x 128Mb AGP ATI Radeon 9250 DDR Graphics

    1 x 512 Mb DDR400 PC3200 Memory

1 x Zalman Flower Cooler for the 775 Chipset

    1 x 3.2 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 540 CPU, 1Mb

    1 x Asus P5P800 Pentium-4 LGA775 Motherboard

Is there anything worth keeping? Case PSU?

Maybe just new Mobo, CPU and RAM.

He has OS and HDD! Any help would be great!

if most of the stuff is around the age of the pentium 4 he has then most likely the whole lot is useless
DVD's and Hard drives all come with sata connectors now which i doubt your PSU has and 350 wouldn't be great except for the bear minimum hanging off of it anyway
I'm not familiar with those cards but again if they are old then probably onboard audio on a motherboard might actually be better than that card but wouldn't have the controller obviously
it might be time for him to ditch most of it and keep the case and start from there
