A school in Limerick has been evacuated after a dangerous chemical was discovered there this morning.

The toxic substance was found at around 11am in St Enda's secondary school.

Four units of the Limerick city fire service are at the scene, and an army bomb disposal team have been notified.

Another school in Limerick had to be evacuated yesterday in Kilmallock following a similar incident.

A controlled explosion was carried out at Coláiste Ioseph and no one was injured.
