    I got the wrong processor.

I got one for socket 1 instead of socket 2.

    Socket 1? Athlon X2s weren't around 20 years ago!

Is there a number like 4000+ or 250 or 7550?
It should have it in clear writing on the box.

    Edit:

For example, this is an X2 240.

NO your pc will take a diffent cpu to a laptop its been years scince any laptop has used desktop cpu's.

Ive neven seen a desktop takeing a laptop cpu.

Unfortunately no, as thenightrider says, you will have to get a desktop CPU.

There have been a few adapters for sockets in the past (I remember one for the pentium M to desktop) and daughter boards for already specialised boards (939 socket + am2 compatibility) but I haven't seen anything like that in recent years.

Here's a compatibility list for the board. The best one on the lust is the phenom x4 840 and it's about €85 delivered from amazon.co.uk.

CPU fan? You will get one in most processor boxes. It does the job but they're not great and can be noisy. You want one that's am2/am3 compatible. You should look for reviews on any particular as some are great or worse that the AMD one.

I would assume not as it has the word mobile meaning for laptops.

What pin would the cpu fan use ?

    Is it a 3pin or a 4PIN one.

In the specifications its says the power connector is 4 pin, should i go by this ?
