Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Assalam alaikum,
As you are aware, Tauheed being that concept establishing the Oneness of God Almighty, the Creator/Cherisher of the Universe, is one of the 5 pillars upon which Islam is built...the other 4 being 5 daily Prayers, Zakkat, Fasting during the Holy month of Ramadan and the Hajj.
To make our Tauheed sound and meaningful, we must MIND/OBSERVE the foolowing Essentials, namely:--

    1. To always speak the Truth.
    2. To keep obligations in accordance with the Qur'an and the Sunnah.
    3. To keep the Heart free from hatred.
    4. To avoid forbidden food.
    5. To shun innovations in religion, and
    6. To be satisfied with Allah Most High in scarcity and plenty, and turn to Him in happiness or affliction.

    Thanks for the post.

I've come across similar statements in other contexts. A person correctly observes that Tauheed - the oneness of Allah - is one of the core concepts of Islam, and then says: "Tauheed implies the following [whatever that might be]". It's not always clear to a non-Muslim how Tauheed does in fact imply what is claimed.

For example, how does Tauheed imply that we should not eat forbidden food?

I emphasise that I am simply looking for some clarification of the chain of reasoning, not challenging this or the other five items that you identified as "essentials".

Tawheed means taking Allah SWT as your only Lord and rejecting all Tawaghit (false deities for lack of a better English term). So once we recognize Allah as Lord then it is only natural we obey him in every matter. So when he says dont eat this, the Muslim will not eat it.
