Any chance Noel Gallagher will be added I wonder? I see hes free the Friday & Saturday of that weekend the last time I checked.

No chance, he's supporting RHCP tonight, that will be his third and final Irish date on the tour.

And if Noel was going to play, he would have been announced earlier along with all the other big mainstream acts (i.e. Killers, Elbow etc).

after the forbidden fruit and body+soul tickets being around €100, it's some stretch for €240 for EP. that price is a relic of the celtic tiger. there'll need to be a lot of acts announced to sell

If they only they moved Grimes to Sunday, I'd defo buy a Sunday ticket. Maybe they'll have to open the festival to day tickets for every day if sales are sluggish.

    On the EP forum (http://forum.electricpicnic.ie/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=20015&start=18):
There seems to be a link off the official web page for Bombay Bicycle Club, though it goes to a 'To be revealed very soon' holding page. Not exactly a confirmation but I don't know why it would exist if they weren't going to be added??

    http://electricpicnic.ie/bombaybicycleclub

Decided to look for more acts by changing the URL to see who comes up with "to be revealed very soon" as well and have so far found:

    Grimes (already self-confirmed) http://electricpicnic.ie/grimes
    Ben Howard - http://electricpicnic.ie/benhoward
    Factory Floor -http://electricpicnic.ie/factoryfloor
    Villagers - http://electricpicnic.ie/villagers
    The Antlers - http://electricpicnic.ie/theantlers

Apologies if these are already known, hadn't seen them anywhere else myself!

agreed. i wonder will it sell out or get a crowd. 240 euros is an awful lot, especially when u consider you also need transport, and if camping food, drink tent etc.

I realise it doesnt seem to be aimed at oxegen type festival goers, so maybe those with more disposable income will attend.

EP have confirmed it on their twitter feed.

Im really thinking of giving the picnic a miss this year as that line up really doesn't justify the ticket price..someone should tell them its not 2008 anymore.

Some nice additions. I've gone from a no to a maybe.

    Opr

^Would be doing the same if there wasn't a decent group of us going. There's a few in those additions today that I'll probably go see but very disappointed with the line up as a whole now, can't see there being many more added.

Just glad I got an earlybird ticket for a little cheaper... €240 is unjustifiable for this.

How much was the earlybird ticket?

€191 if you did it in instalments

(I think it was €160 if you paid up front)

Early birds were €190 and loyalty tickets were €175 which is pretty good imo.
I'm happy with villagers, BBC, Ben Howard, Dexy's, Grimes etc.
This is a very good announcement tbf. Now if we could just get some Bloc Party and Django Django i'd be set

Yup, that'll do me lovely. Just them and I'll be a happy camper.

    exactly the same for me.
i know there'll be a decent group heading down so when the day rolls around i won't mind too much about the lineup as i got an early bird ticket, but if it was just 2 of us heading down, i'd be seriously considering giving it a miss based on the lineup at the moment if i had to buy a full price ticket.

re: the announcement today, very underwhelming. there's 3 or 4 that i wouldn't mind seeing, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if I/people i'm with aren't bothered making our way to the stage when those acts are on. nothing there that I'm thinking "wow, great addition".

Absolutely pathetic line-up! I think it's time for this country to get a new festival that can cater for more knowledgeable music lovers.

In your knowledgeable opinion, who would you rather see?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,272 ✭✭✭Captain Graphite

Very underwhelming announcement tbh. :( If I hadn't already got the €175 loyalty ticket I probably wouldn't bother going this year. Line up definitely not worth the €240, especially compared to last years.

Still, on the bright side, I'll get to see more of the Minefield and Body & Soul sections this year.

Oh good Jesus! Please tell me you're a caricature and not an actual real life person with that attitude?

Not much for me on that list of additions... was happier with the previous announcements.

Very little on the electronica / techno front as yet - maybe that will perk things up a bit when it comes out

They haven't really announced any acts for the Little Big Tent yet except for Squarepusher so I think some decent electronic acts are due in the next announcement!

seeing as Four Tet is DJing with Caribou and Jamie xx at EP, i'd hope that he's booked for a live show too.
doubt Caribou will as it would need to be the full band and the only Caribou gigs around that date are all DJ sets, including one the next day in Ibiza with Four Tet....
