cream of celery soup

Hi all, I have been looking for a recipe for cream of celery soup. I would be grateful for any suggestions.

I'm not very fond of celery, but if I had lots (unlikely, but not impossible) and decided to make a soup (and soup would be among the more palatable options) then I think I might start with this one: http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/type-of-dish/soups/cream-of-celery-soup.html

Everyone says that Delia's recipes "work", and though my own cooking style sees a recipe as a starting point, I can see the attraction of the "cooking by numbers" method that Delia promotes.

I did have a look for a Nigel Slater recipe, but unsuccessfully.

2 heads of celery
1 head of celeriac
1 garlic clove
1 white large onion
2 peeled rooster potato
8oz of white rice
1 leek
1 small bag of spinach

chop all the vegetables and fry in a little oil till soft but not coloured.
add water and rice but not spinach
boil for 25 mins.

then add one cup of cream, 1 pinch of cumin and one chopped granny smith apple and the washed spinach

puree all with hand held blender and pass through a sieve.

check now for salt and pepper and add according to taste.

it is nice with some sour cream, chopped chives & parmesan cheese on top.

Thank you, going to try this at the weekend. Really miss Campbells cream of celery.

I'm just in the middle of doing Delia's soup as posted above, it's a really nice creamy soup, well worth doing.
