Recently the esb replaced the old meter because the wood behind it had rotted away, looking at it closer i noticed that they connected the earth (out of the tails t&e) in along with the neutral cable, i didnt think that was right so i opened up the cover and there seems to be no connection point for the earth at all. Meter is an iskra digital type, any quick help would be appreciated as i want this sorted soon.

the MPC (earth on the tails) connects at the cut-out on new work anyway

it maybe that they connected it at meter neutral

    Sorry i dont understand,
Why wouldnt there be a specific terminal for MPC earth. It also has a newish mcb board with 16mm2 tails.

    bit late for me but:pac:

there's a terminal on new cut-outs for MPC anyway

but they may have reconnected like for like

unlikely esbn will leave anything unsafe after them ime

as long as you have the same low-impedance fault path you're ok

Ive never seen this type of meter before, ill try and put up a pic in a few days, cant see anything like it on the net, it has a blue button for going through date time kwh and a few more settings.

There does not seem to be a terminal for the MPC at all.

What makes you think their was a separate terminal before they changed the meter?

Its rare to see a meter with an earth.

Neutralizing at the meter was common on older work

He may have followed esbn procedure for meter upgrade-I don't know

On older setup it was standard, it was in with the neutral in the same terminal. If the op has an old cutout, and it wasn't replaced then the earth would be put back in with the neutral. The new cutout have a space for it, but its still the same common block.

In meters a few years ago there was a connection point for the mpc individually with allen head screws, behind the plastic covering it is possibly the same block as the neutral. I dont see why they would change this as now you have to wedge the two in to the one terminal.
